Today we had some lovley people come to our school to teach us some cool things like how to make tiy diy. They came form science road show Otago University witch is all the way in the south island. Thats a long way.

So first, we put our gloves and pertection glassers on so our eyes and fingers didn’t get hert.Then we got all these thing a mixed it up and then there was a machine that stores the potion and it was pritty cool.

After we made our tiy diy we got a peace of fabric and and dropped it into our potion and then we put it aside and now we have cute squre tiy diy fabric things.🫰

I come from a place where pillows are soft and blankets are warm.

Gaillies of grass and native trees surround us.

I come from a place where dreams  fill your mind.

Music playing, cats meowing and people talking.

This place makes me feel relaxed

All about me  my name is helena and  i am 12 years old. My birthday is on August 9. I have 3 siblings, My older brother Kearan he is 16, I have a yonger brother named Nelson he 10 and I have a younger sister named Maia she is 2.My favorite coloure is blue red and light pink and my favourite  food and drinks are suishi and chocolate milk.

In week 8  my class had to do speaches witch is the most embarrasing thing ever. the class had horra on thier faces when rob said we need to do speaches.

My speach was why makeup should be alowed at school. Our speach had to be atleast over 4 minniuts and under 6 minnuits. Witch was really hard. My speach was like 2 minnuits i think witch was not good but oh well.

First we had to draw the comic  in our books and then we had to draw it on a A4 pice of papper and we had to do it on canva.

For pet day art my class did lots of art.My favoutite pice of art was the tapa flowers. For my tapa flower I did neon lines that were going around the flower pettles the colours i did were pink, blue and purple i will insert a piture.

We also did snail art  witch my snail looked really funny  i will also put a piture at the bottem.

yesterday it was pet but saddley i wasn’t alowed to bring one of my pets but that is ok.in the morning my class was locked so we had to wait for the teacher to open the class. when the the class was opend we rushed in trying to see if we won. but sadley i didnt win anything. after looking around our class we walked around the school looking at the other classers  art, the art was really good. we also walked into the hall were all the smaller animals were the little animals were so cute.

After walking around in the hall we walked down to the bottem  field to see the big animals. There were alot of dogs and sheep but there was this really cute sheep with a pigion on its back witch was really funny.the dogs did a lap around this cut of bit of the field and then the sheep did alap around a cut of bit of the field and i think it was really fun.

The day before  tuakana tenina we painted rocks. the base coloure of my rock was white and it had little poker dots. the poker dots were verey bright colours like red, blue purple and pink. T

The next day we did some skipping me and dannie were really good she was really fast. After skipping we went stright to findding the rocks Dannie was really good at spotting the bright rocks and she said it was really fun.Me and Dannie found 34 rocks out of 39 so i think we did really well.

We are learning to understand and reflect on how emotions can affect our responses and how strategies

like the ”thinking coaches” can help us manage our feelings and actions.

In the story ”Under the surface” the thinking coaches use strategies that are ”No matter how I feel, this feeling will pass. Name it, tame it. Not all emotions are helpful and my emotions are an important part of who I am.

When I feel mad I would hit somethig to take the anger out of me, But when I read this story I realised that there were better ways to deal with it. I can try to name it tame it and change my attitude for a better outcome.
